Fall has arrived across North Texas, and calendars from Granbury to Fort Worth are filling up fast. As a team that works with buyers and sellers throughout Hood, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant, and Somervell counties, we hear the same question every October, "what's actually going on around here this month?" So here is a roundup of real, dated events worth putting on your calendar across the whole service area we call home.
Tarrant County kicks things off first. Fort Worth Oktoberfest takes over Trinity Park from September 24 through 26, 2026, with Bavarian beer, live music, and enough bratwurst to feed the whole metroplex. If you have never wandered Trinity Park during a festival weekend, this is a great excuse.
Just west in Hood County, the Historic Granbury Merchants Association is hosting Granbury Oktoberfest on the historic square from October 2 through 4, 2026. Expect local vendors, live entertainment, and the small town charm Granbury does so well. Mark your calendar again for later in the month too, since the square's 48th annual Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts runs October 23 through 25, bringing artists and artisans from around the region along with live music all weekend.
Over in Parker County, Weatherford College is hosting the Lone Star Region Rodeo at the Parker County Sheriff's Posse Arena on October 9 and 10, 2026. It is the second year the college has hosted this NIRA event, and last year's rodeo earned Rodeo of the Year honors from the Lone Star Region, so expect a packed arena for both the preliminary rounds and the Saturday night finals.
In Somervell County, the Sheriff's Department is hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with proceeds supporting Papa's Pantry, the local food bank. It is a small town event in the best sense, neighbors, deputies, and local families sharing an evening together while supporting a cause that matters to the whole county.
Johnson County rounds out the month with Autumn on the Square in Cleburne on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Market Square. It is a free, family friendly fall fair, a nice way to close out the season before the holidays take over.
Whether you are already one of our neighbors or you are still deciding where in Hood, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant, or Somervell County feels like home, events like these are a good reminder of why we love working in this part of Texas. If you want local recommendations beyond what made this list, or you are thinking about buying or selling in any of these counties, we are always happy to talk.
